      Hi Support,
I just got a new 6100 and ran into issues with swapping one of the SFP+ from WAN to LAN use. However the ports are not communicating. I have used SFP+ => Ethernet adapter, did not work. I have used DAC cable from 6100 <=> SFP+ switch, that did not work too.

Not sure of what to do next.

      Kindly advice.

What are you connecting it to? How is that configured?

DAC cables usually don't offer mode than one connection speed so it will be trying to link at 10G.

Yes exactly my thoughts too, but looks like the 6100 have preferece of DAC cable type. Although connected with the led lights showing, but the interface shows unknown.

That's not uncommon with DAC cables either. Usually doesn't cause a problem though. I assume it should be pulling an IP via DHCP there?

Do you see packets in and out in the interface status page?

No, that is the problem I am having, it is not processing DHCP. The interface is LAN with DHCP range. It has IPv4 address configured. I also tried manually assigned static IP on my laptop & ping the interface IP, but no reply. Firewall Rules allows Any ICMP to Self on all Interface.

What is it connected to? What state does that show for the link? How is it configured?

With a DAC cable you might have no connection options at all in pfSense. It will only connect at 10G autoselect.
