I did a factory reset by pushing the button with a paper clip, and now I cannot access the GUI through my browser. I am connected via a cable from my laptop directly into the LAN port and I have tried DHCP and also manually setting my NIC to 192.168.1.x. Still no luck after several reboots. I'm using a 1100 fw.

    Thanks for any assistance!

Remember the console cable you got when you bought the 1100 ?
Now it definitely time to use it.
See the pfSense "1100" documentation about how to activate it on your PC/MAC/whatever.

It's this console access that shows all the details you (and we ^^) need to know.

No "help me" PM's please. Use the forum, the community will thank you.
Edit : and where are the logs ??

The reset button on the 1100 only resets the power. It doesn't reset the config. So it will still be running whatever it was last configured as.
