    Re: Kea DHCP: No leases for dynamic DHCP client

    I switched to KEA DHCP and I am having the same exact issue that was reported 1 year ago. I am only seeing lease info for static reserved clients, all systems that pull a lease dynamically are missing from the DHCP Leases page.

    All the hosts below are my static reserved clients, I a missing about a dozen dynamic clients from status page.

    Is this really still an issue, I know KEA is new but this is core fundamental feature of a DHCP server.

      @ngr2001

      I have exactly the same issue, the DHCP dynamic lease shows the host registered with the DNS resolver, but this is not the case.

      Just wanted to add my +1.

      Cheers

        Sorry I might have fixed my issue already,

        I enabled these 2 settings and now its working. On the first go I bounced the DHCP service and nothing happened. I just rebooted pfSense and now finally I am seeing Dynamic leases in the status page.

          Thanks for the info. I had those 2 settings set already. Maybe I will try a reboot.

          Cheers

            I also issued an

            ipconfig /release

            followed by a

            ipconfig /renew

            on my clients after the reboot, just to speed things along and make sure its working. I feel like my clients are also holding on to bogus leases from the old DHCP server, just incase this helps.

              @ngr2001 I don't know if this is your problem but I had a issue with my Linux clients using NetworkManager. turns out the built in DHCP client does not work with KEA. solution is to not use the built in client ("internal")

              Fix is /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf
              [main]
              dhcp=dhclient
