Netgate 4200 after power outage
-
My Netgate 4200 seems to take forever to boot after a power outage today for around 2 hours. I have a fiber connection with dynamic ip from my provider. Any solutions?
I had same issue before when I tried to update to 24.11. For me this was solved only when I installed a nvme ssd and installed the system via console access.

@joh_kim I would connect to the console and watch it boot, see if you can figure out where it is pausing.

If VLANs will not be used, or only for optional interfaces, it is typical to
say no here and use the webConfigurator to configure VLANs later, if required.Should VLANs be set up now [y|n]? igc2: link state changed to UP

It seems to be loading a config that contains interfaces that don't exist in the 4200. Did you import that from something else?
It should show just above that line what interface is in the config but not present.

Thank you. It turned out that I had a faulty interface setting that kicked in when the unit was rebooted. I had to revert to reset the device, restore previous settings and delete the faulty setting to get all working again.
A learning process indeed.
Thank you for the suggestion!
