Need a suggestion on new installation of 2.0 ALPHA
-
hi, currently im using pfsense 1.2.3 RC1 . i am using capital portal user system on it.
now i want to install newer version of pfsense i.e. 2.0 ALPHA. im a bit afraid of losing my user settings or their passwords.
please tell me if i backup my capital portal of version 1.2.3 RC1 and then install 2.0 ALPHA, would i be able to restore my old backup of capital portal on newer version? (actually i will have to manually collect usernames and passwords from my users if i lost my setting after installing newer version.)optional: i just read somewhere in forum that pfsense team need some testers? im always here ready to help if you ever want to test any new release. i have a good environment of networking and everything that is necessary for testing. and i love to test latest versions :). and i also love pfsense as this is the one who solved every of my problems in my small network. (im still noob in networking).

The config conversion for user manager isn't done yet so you will break your CP.
Regardless of that, don't upgrade to 2.0 at this point, for any reason, in a production environment.

ok, how long will it take to be done? im waiting for it :)
and btw if i install 2.0 at this point and use its own cp will it work?
will i be able to update my 2.0 to the next releases without re installing?
