Hi, my ISP provided me FTTH with ONT device (PPOE).
ISP gave me FTTH router. WAN is plugged into SFP port in D link router (see picture below)
      wan in router
      ont
I need to replace D link router with pfSense because I am going to make some content filtering.
I built a pfsense firewall with old pc (intel core i5 6th gen ssd 8gb ram nic) but i did not buy SFP NIC.
      Which is the best solution?
1)Buy a sfp NIC intel and plug in the wan directly inside the pc with pfsense
      2) Connect pfsense to Dlink
I do not have NIC sfp but i do not know how to connect pfsense to dlink
Port 1 D link is configured with LAN address 192.168.1.254 and dhcp enabled.
      Could you help me please?
      Thanks a lot

Port 1 D link is configured with LAN address

Port 1 is different as port 2,3 and 4 ? These 4 are all switched.

You have a decision to make.
On the DLINK, change its LAN network to, for example, 1920.168.10.254/24
Or, on pfSense, change its LAN network to 192.168.10.1/24
You can't keep 192.168.1.x/24 on the DLINK and 192.168.1.1/24 on pfSense.

but i do not know how to connect pfsense to dlink

Every store on planet earth sells the solution : network RJ5 cable. Plug the cable into the pfSense WAN, and the other side into one of the 4 DLINK yellow 'LAN'.
        Done.

You have to contact your ISP about SFP details.

              @Gertjan
So basically I need to connect an ethernet cable from WAN pfsense to LAN D Link?
I will change pfsense WAN address (I will put 192.168.0.0/24)
Do i need to set up dhcp on pfsense? I need dhcp service
pfsense will become my new gateway for devices in LAN?
So i need to set up another address for pfsense lan.
Should I crate some routes between d link nad pfsense?
ISP is not going to support me me in any way.

OK so it's a GPON module. Those can present issues in pfSense since they often only accept one link rate but present as a something else to the NIC.

If it's a 1G link I would try to get a 1G SFP NIC as that is most likely to work without issues.

Though since it's probably running OpenWRT you may be able to force it. https://hack-gpon.org/ont-huawei-ma5671a/
