Internet connectivity issue
-
Hello I have random internet connectivity issues it randomly slows down about 65% slower then it should I have checked the logs already but the only thing I noticed is that I am not sure if this occupies during the issue or shortly after but this appears in the log:
arp: 192.168.50.7 moved from d8:3a:dd:65:2f:46 to 1c:d6:be:ac:21:7e on igb1
arp: 192.168.50.7 moved from 1c:d6:be:ac:21:7e to d8:3a:dd:65:2f:46 on igb1
That internet issue occurs different I haven‘t monitored it quiet long I just started since I noticed more often slow downs when i was watching Netflix the image quality degreesed and that was about yesterday that was a sign for me that something isn’t working correctly!
My setup:
ISP - PFSENSE - WIFI ROUTER - MESH WIFI ROUTER
Both WiFi routers are connected to each other!
ASUS AX56U both the same model!
Worked fine until now so i don’t think they are the problem since on Ethernet connected devices had the same problem at the same time!
And some unmanaged tp-link switches connected to the routers for more Ethernet ports!Pfsense runs on Dell Precision Tower 3620 (intel 4 port nic purchased new from Amazon ) i7 7700 Quad Core 32gb ram 450gb ssd! And the Dell precision tower from Amazon renewed!
I also noticed a lot of sshguard log entries!:
Jan 4 14:50:00 sshguard 89013 Exiting on signal.
Jan 4 14:50:00 sshguard 99978 Now monitoring attacks.
Jan 4 15:26:00 sshguard 99978 Exiting on signal.
Jan 4 15:26:00 sshguard 26638 Now monitoring attacks.
Jan 4 16:38:00 sshguard 26638 Exiting on signal.
Jan 4 16:38:00 sshguard 97259 Now monitoring attacks. And more just every time like about 1hour between!
I read some articles where people advised to setup the log file size and edit what is being logged but haven’t tried anything! Because I didn’t know where and if it is necessary!Any help appreciated!
I tried to provide as much information as possible let me know if you need anything else! -
@d-k said in Internet connectivity issue:
arp: 192.168.50.7 moved from d8:3a:dd:65:2f:46 to 1c:d6:be:ac:21:7e on igb1
arp: 192.168.50.7 moved from 1c:d6:be:ac:21:7e to d8:3a:dd:65:2f:46 on igb1Seems this IP is used on two devices simultaneously.
Did you set it manually?According MAC address vendor lookup one belongs to "Raspberry Pi Trading Ltd" and the other one to "Wistron Neweb Corporation".
