Next Stable release?

I used to run 1.22 stable as a router/firewall solution and was looking forward to the next stable release. At the time the additional functionality that I required such as multiple PPPoE interfaces were promised on the next version which was promised H12009. I gave up waiting for this solution and eventually went for a $30 mikrotik router which gave my everything I needed.
It's a pity, I really like Pfsense and would consider it again but it seems development of stable releases are being pushed too far into the future. What is the latest ETA of 1.2.3(stable) or ver 2.0?

PAY the dudes to finish it.
Hope you like your Mikrotik, but I am running 1.2.3RC3 and this seems very stable to me. It seems that it is not the actual core og PFsense that is causing concerns right now, but most of the add'ons are….

lcilliers,
pfSense 1.2.3 will not have multiple PPPoE interfaces, that is coming in 2.0.
pfSense 1.2.3 is due any time now, pending the release of a security announcement from FreeBSD in reference to the OpenSSL tls/ssl renegotiation bug. Not sure what is taking them so long unless they're waiting for OpenSSL to release a new version with a proper fix first.
2.0 is still alpha, but is getting better every day. Still not production-ready, and probably won't be for a while yet. These things take time, especially testing, finding, and fixing bugs. It's in a feature freeze now and a lot of bug fixing is happening. Hopefully we'll see a Beta version sometime within the next month or two.
