Trouble Bringing up WAN Interface
-
Hi everyone, I might have asked some of these question before and back at it. Long story short we unfortunately are Charter customers, we currently have a stable cable connection but have recently installed fiber to the building which I am attempting to bring up the WAN interface on. Currently on our 6100 running Pfsense plus I have WAN 2 configured and working. I have WAN 1 configured with the static information provided but I am not getting an established connection to this new fiber system. My ARP entries show a completed result on the IP but on the Gateway IP it is showing "Incomplete". I'm at a complete loss what to do because I am inclined to think its an issue with the equipment they provided and possibly not configured in the right mode, like maybe it needs to be bridged.
My plan is to get the new fiber system running, then simply change the default gateway and cancel the cable WAN connection but no luck. A bit of a back story is we had this activated before attempted to connected and couldn't, they had a tech on site and said the system is working perfectly, he connected a laptop and it got internet. Well I told them this is not a real test, a laptop and router are completely different and can't be used as a determining factor that their system is functioning 100% to work with a router.
I'm not sure what I can test to make sure my end is 100%, I mean it is basically setup the same as the existing cable connection, which works so not sure what diagnostics, or logs to see the issue. I've had sendto errors thru dpinger that basically had said "No route to host" on the gateway IP, what can I ask they support team to verify they are indeed working 100% and reachable, should they be able to see I am connected to their fiber modem?
Just wanted to add it looks like we are connecting to a product called RAD ETX-203AX, that is the fiber modem they have installed and our Netgate 6100 WAN port connects directly to it, there are no other devices in between.
Thanks
