    Hi All,
    I have recently added a RTL8125 2.5GbE Controller to my PFSesne router to take advantage of my 1200mbps internet connection. I have installed the driver package version "realtek-re-kmod-198.00_3".

    Something that I noticed during my testing is that although I am getting 1100mpbs download my upload is down at 20mbps. If I witch back to using a 1GbE port my upload and download are around 900mbps.

    My internet connection is a 1200mbps Up/Down connection and if I plug in a different router with a 2.5GbE WAN port I get the expected upload and download.

    I have never had to troubleshoot something like this before, so I am wondering where best to start? Has anyone seen this issue before or something similar?

    Information that might be of use:
    Connection Type: PPPoE
    Speed (Up/Down): 1200mbps
    IP v4: DHCP
    IP v6: Disabled (is supported)

    Something I have noticed is there s a updated driver for RTL8125, that can be downloaded from Reltek's web site but I can't see anything in the release notes it would indicate it might fix this issue.

      A restriction that far below the expected rate is usually something pretty low level like a bad cable.

      Can you test the NIC against some other 2.5G device? Test a different cable?

      Do you see errors or collisions in Status > Interfaces?

        @stephenw10

        I will retest again shortly and post results. If I use the same cable but on a Different router with 2.5gbe port upload and downlad are as expected. I will also test the cable again.

          @stephenw10

          I have re-tested tonight and checked I have 0 collisions.

          The above is during the time I switched back to the 2.5GBE port and ran a test from my test machine. That is connected to a second 2.5GBE port.

          I complete more testing ever later tonight or tomorrow morning and post my results.
