8200/6100 Intel x553 NIC and certain SFP+ modules
-
It's connected to my ISP router on 10G Ethernet port.
-
Is the ISP router actually routing? Is it actually linked at 10G?
One option here would be to just use one of the IGC ports. But that would be limited to 2.5Gbps of course.
-
No I just use ISP router for the PPPOE. Yes its linked to 10G.
Finally I order a XSPON module to completely bypass the ISP router, while waiting for the module to arrive I use the IGC port and it's works good.
Thanks you very much for your help. -
Yup those RJ-45 SFP+ modules are not supported and actual function can be very variable. Some users have reported success with some modules but there's no real way to know any many don't work as expected.

@stephenw10
OK.Thanks -
@lio1503 FWIW I've been using an RJ45 to SFP+ module in my 6100 for a few months with 2GBit/s FIOS WAN (ONT provides an RJ45 only), and a Twinax DAC cable on the LAN side to my Unifi switch. The module is also a 10GTek cheap-o, this one I think. Seems like it might be the same as yours?
Other than the
scorching hot temps (literally cannot touch the module without burning my finger) I haven't had issues and don't see any interface errors. Download and upload speeds are good.

Hi @luckman212
Yes this is the same setup that I made and same module and I have issue.
Finaly I plug Fiber in sfp+ on my unifi switch and use vlan to separate LAN network and WAN network .Thanks
