      Good day
How will I go about migrating from my aging Netgate 3100 pfSense+ to CE release? I bought a MiniPC with 4 intel nic's to replace the 3100 and would like to keep my setup in it's current form.

The reason I am replacing the 3100 is due to constant failures I am experiencing with the hardware. Prior to this, I ran 1100's, but after 2 out of 5 of these failed, I switched to the 3100. Now I am moving to another HW platform as I have lost a bit of faith (and the cost is to big for me in South Africa) in the Netgate hardware.

      Kind regards
      cyber7 (aka Aubrey)

When you pause to think, do you start again?

      FreeBSD 10.1-RELEASE-p15
      and
      pfSense 2.3.2-RELEASE-p1 (amd64 full-install) on pfSense

The config version in 24.11 is newer than in 2.7.2 so it will complain when you try to import it.

        https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/releases/versions.html

You may be able to just import it anyway depending on what you have set.

If you have a backup from 24.03 that will import cleanly.

So, easier to rebuild from scratch?

I would, however, like to pose the following question to pfSense. If I have a Netgate device with pfSense+ (perpetual) licensing now defunct, can I migrate this license to my new device?

Depends how big/complex the config is. I would at least try to import it myself. Or wait for 2.8 which will have the same or newer config version.

The Plus subscription is tied to the hardware, it can't be used on anything else.
