      The manual doesn't reference this:

I have 6 Netgate 4200 max devices, and only 1 of them is doing this. All boot fine and seems to run perfectly.
5 of the 6 boot to a blue light on the diamond.

However, I have one that boots to a Green Square and a Blue Diamond. What does a green led on square mean and why does this one device act differently?

      Thanks
      Mike

Hmm. It doesn't mean anything specific. Green is only actively used during upgrade as shown there.

Does it still do it after a full power cycle? It could be the green LED not having been cleared after an upgrade perhaps.

@stephenw10 received new, updated to latest version. reboot. no updates available. square is green, reboot multiple times doing configurations over a 2 day period. still square green. none of the others act that way. the device seems to be fine otherwise. note: it displayed solid green from first power on. to last power off. at least so far.
This is not a flashing green led, it's solid.

Has it actually been power cycled though? Not just rebooted?

If so you should open a TAC ticket. It's almost certainly harmless but it shouldn't behave like that.

@stephenw10 yes multiple complete power cycles.

Then open a TAC ticket: https://www.netgate.com/tac-support-request

It sounds like that unit has a faulty LED or controller. Though, as I say, it's very unlikely it's anything other than cosmetic.
