It was not obvious from the docs whether one should/could do a 23.05->24.11 direct upgrade.

Is it possible & should I just follow the doc directions for 24.03?

      The only mod I've done to my 2023 NG2100 is added a 256GB M.2.

Any lessons learned are always appreciated! Thx.

@pazmanian the steps to which you linked are all automatic. However you aren’t on 24.03 yet. So your next upgrade will have a faster reboot.

You should be fine skipping a version or two. If it’s a bunch of versions/years Netgate will typically tell you to install new. If pfSense needs an intermediate version it will make you go there first.

        https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/install/upgrade-guide.html

Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

It was not obvious from the docs whether one should/could do a 23.05->24.11 direct upgrade.

          The dashboard :

and when you click on the item marked green, you are not told that you "have to" upgrade.
          However, you are :

All pfSense Plus customers are encouraged to upgrade to this new version.

Edit : and where are the logs ??

You won't be offered 24.11 from 23.05. I expect 24.03 would be the newest version you can upgrade to directly.

@Gertjan I had no idea about the RSS feed for the dashboard... it was not there by default. Good to know! Thx.
