PFasense+ downgraded to CE.

Hi Guys.
I have had a hell of a weekend with my Firewall. I've have running as a VM on Proxmox. For many years ago I could upgrade to PFsense+Home .But after a Moving and nothing that worked - I decided tro reset to factory settings.
So now I have a PFsense, which can not update any package or reeases. When I try to see if there is updates to my PFsense (24.11) and are stucked there.
OI tried to reinsert the Activation Key again - But then nothing happends. Can this be resolved or should I just run a CE edition.
Which I think there several differences between the 2 editionms.
But are my Pfsense+Home just gone fior good for now, and only way is to buy the +TAC

@Udbytossen the Plus license/NDI is bound to the network card(s). If you change them (adding, removing, replacing) the NDI changes and the license get invalidated.
If it's a VM, can you restore a working VM? That should restore the same NDI and the license.
Move to another pfSense version: In general if the pfSense configuration revision is lower or the same as in the version you want to change to, you can do that.
As an example, from 24.11 to CE 2.8.0-BETA: 24.11 has config rev 23.6 and CE 2.8.0-BETA got config rev 23.8. That will work.
from 24.11 to CE 2.7.2: 24.11 -> config rev 23.6, CE 2.7.2 -> config rev 23.3. That may not work.
And if you use features that are not available in CE, you loose them. For example Ethernet filtering.

@patient0 Thanks for the reply.
But I need to change my WAN according to my new
Before I just got a DHCP IP - But after moving to a new apartment - the WAN are now a tagged VLAN directly from the ISP Router.
So as I see it I - no matter what - I'll loose my license - unless I create the same setup where my WAN is only an DHCPHmmm - but thanks for the answer

Changing the configuration on an interface, or adding a VLAN should not change the NDI. Only adding or removing a (virtual) hardware NIC will.
You wrote "But after a Moving...": what did you move?

I moved from my own hoiuse to a rentet appartment :-)
Super Thanks for clarify that -
Unless you redeployed the VM it should not have changed. Simply changing the upstream device would not affect it.
