@johnpoz ok thanks cuz i spent like an hour trying to post my message. cutting and pasting, looking for spelling mistakes.. also checked there website if they had a list of spam messages.. couldnt find it.. i also had issues pasting pastebin question and then it wouldnt allow me.. it be nice if netgate would just abbondon it.. and just got with human moderators.. like almost makes it not worth asking a question.. i also ended up using computer that wasnt behind PIA VPN just plain ISP figured maybe it doesnt like VPNS but the Akismet website all it says 99.9 percent accuracy.. then i the .1% that is screws over not first time its happened more then 20 times even when i try to reply from questions you or the other helper helps with the questions i forget his username at moment.. where it picks and chooses and you struggle what the hell word is considered spam.. if user community allowed to make any suggestions would be get rid of akismet or some how fix it or more power of words or something cuz i get frustrated all the time.. and your pulling your hair out trying to figure what is considered spam... maybe there is also a different spam filter netgate can use like a different company or heckuse the pfblocker lol on there own forums.. cuz that akismet you cant read up on anything its like the government they say they doing a good job but you dont know what they really doing

Makes sense from a forum poster perspective (I have battled with it also) but from a forum reader perspective that would be a disaster. Without effective spam blocking, many spam messages are posted every minute which completely obscuring human posts and overwhelms human moderators.
Reminds me of the USA distortion on the right for individual free speech into actually protecting individually with a lot of power/money to flood public spaces with their "speech" to deny other individuals audible speech. But then again such behaviour is normal for a state with authoritarian rule and associated ruling class (or heading in that direction).

@Patch ah i hear ya or maybe there needs to be better filters or how ever there spam filtering works cuz 99.9% accurate yet it seems to block 99,9 percent
ya i guess hard decision its just gets frustrating .. cuz its not thje first time i was lucky to even post what i posted above cuz it wouldnt post it took more then 10 times before it let me post
its like a broken A.I and its a flip of a coin what goes in what doesnt.. cuz i was banging my head off the wall just to try to post help
maybe because i dont speak proper grammer as i have dyslexia that it thinks its spam and you need to speak proper.. not sure but i got mad tonight cuz it took over an hour to post about the question i had and had to post on pastebin and even then the akismet said it was spam above lol its truely maddening wonder if there is better companyis or the company itself needs to take in customer reviews on issues i dont know if there is option but least to let them know too many bang there head off the walls lol

@comet424 I have chatted with the mods a few times about this myself - seems the integration with this forum software is lacking any controls from my understanding.
I can tell you for sure stuff still gets through.. I delete many a post, but now that your over 5 rep points you shouldn't run into the issue any more - knock on wood!

@johnpoz thanks i appreciate it hopefully no issues ill re post my question i posted on pastebin and see if it works looking after my sick mother so ill try reposting it in a bit to see if i can get help on that question
so basiclly the akismet is up to date or too advanced and the netgate forum is like 2 steps back.. well hopefully it get fix sometime..
that really sucks you guys get bombarded with sooo much spam.. i really hate it too through my pia vpn and nord when i had it.. i google search or use Home Depot search it wouldnt work.. or when googling and you click a sponosred link i get that stupid googleservices link and doesnt let ya.. but if you by pass the vpn no bloody issues the spam stuff really ruins it for surfing or searching when using a vpn and thinks i spam when i not i guess.. it sucks but what can ya do right ..
i least appreciate it this level 5 what does that mean? what level was i at before.. i appericate all the help i wonder how other forums do it.. as they dont use akismet but maybe repair forums or unraid use different software or dont get bombared with spam like you guys doo.. not sure but spam really sucks for sure

@comet424 just how many of your posts have been given a thumbs up - Ie someone found it useful.. That you have 700 posts and you were only a level 2 must mean nobody likes your posts enough to give it a thumbs up ;)
With 5 comes some features, like change you signature, thumbs up others posts, spam filter should pretty much ignore you - so don't go posting any spam ;)

@johnpoz ok thanks well i guess no one gave the thumbs up cuz im a loser lol.. and kinda in a way dumb too.. the akismet requires thumbs up.. if your asking for help and others dont care to help then u dont get thumbs up lol. cuz no ones looking for the same problem you got lol... next netgate forum going to require you do do like youtube videos that people make money off the site... please join hit that like button and subscribe... give that thumbs up so youtubes algorithm knows you liked it so i can make more videos .. the community help is going that route lol..
but dont worry no spam.. only spam be is you guys get frustrated with my dyslexia and i dont explain things right lol..
well hopefully it works i going to to try to post my question now so i can see if i can get help.. and ill be asking if you like it thumb it up lol... fingers crossed it will work lol

@johnpoz it worked.. well it didnt work at first.. i ended up rebooting my Unraid Server.. and pfsense
as i got this
after i rebooted everything i was able to make my question... thanks for helping fix things.. lets hope fingers crossed no more akismet issues.. and hopefully netgate can make the website work better with this akismet if its the only one they sticking with...... but least i was able to finally post.. as i no spam bot just me that trys to maximize pfsense for home use lol

@comet424 you got a blacklisted IP notice? Could you send me message with IP you were using at that time? I can check our black list of IPs and clear that if entry is blocking you.
There are plenty of IPs on that list - or we would just be flooded I can tell you that for sure.. Even with akismet.
I have access to this block list and could look.
edit: looking at your account info - I see you coming from multiple IPs.. But I didn't see any of those listed on the blacklist. I see one from datacamp, which is known to run vpns - and one of your IPs 37.19.x.x was close to a black listed IP range.

Yes, unfortunately the tsunami of spam that happens if we disable that filter makes the forum basically unusable.

Askimet isn't a free service.
If forum owners use it, pay for it, and start to loose legit forum users, then they will adapt their usage profile, and even stop using if there are to many false positives.Imho : check your own 'profile' : from where are you posting ? What ISP ? What IP ? etc. As they are not all treated (listed) equal.
Be aware that using a VPN is great .... but these are used, by definition, by other clients that have something to hide. That simple fact can be used against you.
A VPN that will just work for you is : the one you create yourself on your own server. Maybe not a server hosted in the amazon cloud. The server IP, with some luck, isn't tainted (known to be used for scam stuff in the past) so you're good : it's only you using this IP so nothing can happen, it won't get flagged / listed.
