After upgrading pfSense 2.8.0 RC to RELEASE, my Secondary Router was pretty much "Unsuable"???

My "Workaround" was to run the Network Installer, choosing the Option to Recovery the existing Configuration!!!

My assumption, on this particular upgrade there was an Issue related to the Release NOTES Warning on this particular upgrade, even though there had been NONE as I worked through the various BETAs and RC:

"Due to major changes in PHP and base OS versions, there is a higher than usual chance that packages will interfere with the upgrade process.

To give an upgrade the best possible chance of going smoothly, uninstall all packages before starting the upgrade."

Since my Packages were automatically installed following the Installation of pfSense 2.8.0...

NOTE" As usual: Tailscale required a "New" Key, following a "Fresh" Install...

Hmm, what issues did you see? I upgraded numerous instances from 2.8.0-RC and never saw any problems.

The BIG Fail were my NoMachine Sessions through Tailscale Connections (Ubuntu 24.04):

          • No response to Mouse Clicks, hence the NoMachine Session became "Unusable"!!!

          • NoMachine Session were being dropped, where I believe the Error Message stated something like the "Parent" had "Changed"???

          • NoMachine via Tailscale Logins were much slower than "Usual"

          • Scanning and Applying Ubuntu 25.04 Updates was also NOT behaving a "Usual", taking much longer or simply failing???

This Secondary Router sits behind the Primary Router, hence Double NAT could have been an Issue... Than said, the Scanning and Applying of Ubuntu 25.04 Updates was also problematic even from a Local Session (ie. NO NoMachine/Tailscale)...

Following the Network Installed Version of pfSense 2.8.0, so far everything appears to back to "Normal"!!!

Hmm, so mostly stuff in Tailscale. Except the Ubuntu updates, which is hard to explain. Nothing should have changed there.
