      Running pfSense 24.11.
I had upgraded from an older version some time ago and had added some entries under the Domain Overrides under DNS Forwarder and all worked as expected. Hadn't used it for some time but tried to add an entry today and it will not accept it. I select Save and it comes back with no change to the entries that existed. I was able to delete an old entry just to see if that worked and it did but I could not add it back.

This had worked before but isn't working with this version of pfSense.

Anyone else have this issue or any ideas on what I might look at to try and resolve this?

      Any help would be appreciated.

@dlreid it works here. Anything logged when you try to save? Can you make any other configuration changes?

Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

I'm not aware of any other issues with making changes to any other config settings. Everything else I have tried works without error.

I was able to add a domain override entry under DNS Resolver (although I'm not using that feature but it does have the Domain Override option so thought I would try it).

I can delete entries from the Domain Override under DNS Forwarder but have not found a way to get it to allow me to add entries but I was able to on previous version of pfSense. I have tried disabling DNS Forwarder and then try adding an entry but still no go. Nothing in the system logs that indicate any error trying to add an entry.

I do see the following log entry each time I apply changes to DNS Forwarder:
          compile time options: IPv6 GNU-getopt no-DBus no-UBus i18n IDN2 DHCP DHCPv6 no-Lua TFTP no-conntrack ipset no-nftset auth no-cryptohash no-DNSSEC loop-detect no-inotify dumpfile

My next option is to just edit the backup file and then load the backup file but it would be nice if this worked. Seems like a bug to me.

@dlreid oh sorry I completely missed “Forwarder.” Resolver can forward also.

            Seems like that’s fixed here:
            https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/releases/25-03.html#dns-forwarder

And that changeset in the Redmine should work in System Patches, if it isn’t in Patches already.

@SteveITS Thanks for providing the info. At least I know its not something I've done to mess things up. I will wait for 25.03 to be released.

              Appreciate your help!

@SteveITS I hadn't used the System Patch before so I just tried to install the package. Not having a lot of luck.

                Installing pfSense-pkg-System_Patches...
                Updating pfSense-core repository catalogue...
repository pfSense-core has no meta file, using default settings
                Unable to update repository pfSense-core
                Updating pfSense repository catalogue...
repository pfSense has no meta file, using default settings
                Unable to update repository pfSense
                Error updating repositories!
                Failed

                I guess I wait for 25.03

@dlreid Well with that error you may not be able to upgrade either. You might try https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/troubleshooting/upgrades.html#rewrite-repository-information. But that topic may be a separate thread. :)
