I had an SSD failure on a CE installation at my home and thought "No big deal, just throw in a replacement, fresh install and restore my backup config"

During install it contacts Netgate and installs Plus instead! A long time ago I tried it out and reverted back to CE when they dropped it for home users.

How can I fix this once and for all?

Your plus license seems to be valid still, so it automatically installs Plus version, for CE version enable "CE Repositories" in Advanced settings

      pfSense Plus 24.11-RELEASE (amd64)

Yup that^. Enable the CE repos in the first install step.

Or if you send me your NDI in chat I can remove it from the list. That would be permanent though.
