I was wondering about installing pfSense on a Disk-on-Module (or DOM).

Do I use the regular LiveCD and install it like a hard disk?
How do I go about disabling swap? (Gonna have 512MB on the setup).

Just delete the Swap-partition in the installer when the drive is partitioned.

If you go this route just keep in mind stuff like NTOP will not work correctly without swap.  I should also add that you never want to mix CF + SWAP partitions.

Yeah, true…There's a limited number of writes you can do on those DOMs or CF cards.
It shortens their life if you use them as swap!  :)

Yep, but some cards have been coming out recently that make me want to change my mind (unlimited writes).  But for some reason I just don't trust them yet.

It's better to be safe than end up with dead cards.
