      Hello,

I'm having a headache with unbound after enabling if_pppoe on 2.8.1_beta. DNS resolution stopped working all togheter. I'm using it as a forwarder with DNSSEC and TLS with cloudflare dns. I tried disabling dnssec and tls but nothing resolves and I can't seem to find anything in the logs. There's some ACL refuse in the log for ipv6 (that aren't expected) but for my testing I'm using a ipv4 machine only. If I disable if_pppoe everything is working perfectly.

      Here's the log from Unbound.

@exomic can you disable IPv6 on WAN or try setting "Prefer IPv4 over IPv6" in System / Advanced / Networking"?

Does IPv6 work with if_pppoe enabled?

What is the issue with DNS, does it not resolve or do you get empty answers?

@patient0 I tried disabling IPv6 and also the Prefer option and it doesn't change anything with dns resolving.

          IPv6 and IPv4 works with if_pppoe enabled.

Unbound gives SERV_FAIL or Time out.

Internal dns resolution in pfsense doesn't work either. When I disable if_pppoe everything works as usual.

@exomic said in Unbound not resolving DNS when using if_pppoe:

              Up :)

Did you just get up? :) Or is DNS working?
