IGMP for IPTV
-
I have recently updated to 24.11 after staying on a stable version for 2+ years and it changed something. My IPTV now no longer works and I have determined its due to pfSense. I have enabled IGMP proxy and set firewall rules, being sure to allow packets with ip options in advanced features. I still cant get it to work. Any advice would be appreciated.

What version were you running before upgrading? What did you have enabled to pass IPTV previously?

@stephenw10
I was on version 23.01
I didn't have anything specifically enabled for this traffic. I updated and loaded my backed up config, everything else works as before. I have read thru a few posts and have tried configuring the IGMP proxy and rules for that... but I think there may be an issue with the update. -
OK, if it worked without the IGMP proxy in 23.01 it should also work that way in 24.11.
Do you see traffic blocked in the firewall logs?
One of the biggest changes between those versions is the switch to interface bound states by default. You might want to try setting that back to floating as a test:

I am not seeing blocked traffic in the logs. At least that is if I'm looking at them correctly. The IPTV service allows a channel to start, then drops and buffers excessively. It took some troubleshooting with the IPTV provider and me swapping an old consumer router into place to verify pfSense was the issue.
I have gotten support to provide a 23.01 image, I am going back to that to see if it fixes the issue.
I will report back .
Thank you

I was able to install the 23.01 image support provided. I loaded my config and everything is back to functioning the way it was.
I do not know what was causing the issue, I assume it was something with IGMP Proxy.Thank you

I can't be if you're not using IGMP proxy in 23.01 as you said. Is that not actually the case?
