      Running update on 1st 1100. Getting this error when trying to run update. I don't run any specialty packages. Just default settings. Have tried restarting. Same issue.

        Do you see an alert on the dashboard after trying that?

        The most common issue there is running out of disk space due to old BE snapshots taking up space. Remove any old BE snaps you're no longer using in System > Boot Environments.

          @stephenw10

          I have this message.

          ld-elf.so.1: Shared object "libmd.so.7" not found, required by "pfSense-repoc"

          pkg: "out of space" returned error code 3 @ 2025-08-18 23:04:40

          I don't have any packages installed other than what came with it. Here is a picture of the boot environmentsPFsense.jpg .

            @packergeek So remove the older versions there unless you think you might revert back to them.

            Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
            When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to reboot, or more depending on packages, and device or disk speed.

              @SteveITS That's 1mb of space if I delete the 24.04-23.09.1 That will allow me to do the upgrade? Doesn't seem like it's freeing any real space.

              Here is a disk picture of the disk usage on the front page.

              PFsense2.jpg

              Nevermind. It freed up a chunk of space. I guess it's the actual size.

                @packergeek yeah the size is misleading

                  That ^,

                  It's actually taking up far more space. That error: pkg: "out of space" returned error code 3 confirms it out of disk space.

                  I would remove all but the current and one previous BE and run the upgrade again.
