      Hardware - Netgate 8200
      Software - 25.07.01

      Hello, I have Quantum 1G internet for one of my ISP connections and for some reason no matter if I put in the Quantum DNS address or OpenDNS or Google DNS address as my Gateway Monitor address I get high RTT values. High being between 90 and 220ms. However, if I go to Diagnostics and use the ping tool to ping these addresses, I get between 6-7ms. Any clue what is happening here?

      Pointing to Quantum DNS server -

      It is only effecting my failover at this time but I can manually adjust those values if need be. It just doesn't seem to make much sense that the values would be this far apart.

      Thanks,

        Hi @SpeedD408 - one thing that might be worth trying is increasing the Data Payload parameter for dpinger from the default 1 to a larger value in the Quantum 1G internet gateway's advanced settings under System / Routing / Gateways to see if it will reduce the latency. More details in the docs page below:

        https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/routing/gateway-configure.html#advanced-gateway-settings

        Hope this helps.

          @tman222

          Thank you very much. I bumped it to 56 and now it is back to normal.
