Seems like a common problem and I see a lot of posts where people are struggling to get this to work.

I've been banging my head against the wall for a couple of days. Can't find any recent guides on this. Everything is several years old. I have tried app passwords and various settings to try and get this to work. Can't get it going.

Anyone been successful in getting notifications to gmail or hotmail?

      Running pfSense 2.7.2

I don't see that post within the last year that has hotmail or gmail working.
What are you using for email notifications?

            Thanks for posting.
This is weird, I have tried this with the same settings.
Are you using an app password? I have tried that also with no luck.

I am trying to use Brevo and I finally get a successful send but maybe ISP is blocking. Maybe this is more trouble than it is worth :)

Yup you have to use an app password with gmail since they tightened security a while back.

@amrogers3 I route my notifications through Office365 without any problems.
