      Hi All!

I bought a used SG-5100 which I want to use for my home setup.
Because it is running 24/7 I would like to tweak the power consumption as much as possible.

At the moment I reverted all bios settings to optimized defaults and was wondering if I could change some stuff to make it idle at a lower wattage. Now it is using around 12.4W idle most at the time.

I saw some settings like speed step (EIST) and enabling C states in the bios also ASPM and was wondering if I could try those and if it will have any impact on performance and usage? I hope someone can help me with recommendations!

So I gave it a try.
Enabled Speedstep, C states and ASPM in bios.
Also enabled powerd and set it to adaptive.

Idle consumption is now at 10.5w, so very pleased with that! Also no performance drops and still able to max out my 1/1gb PPPoE connection!

Now I have to wait for a couple of days to check if the device keeps running stable! :)
