Dual WAN - two ISP testimonials

Hello All,
Would like to get pfsense users comments that have set up a dual wan two ISP with failover configuration. Did everything kick in automagically as expected if one isp feed went down,etc? I am at a k-12 school which now has two isp feeds and we have had outages a couple times in the course of a year and stuff has to be manually changed. If pfsense does do all the voodoo transparently we may go to pfsense. I have read a couple tutorials on setting up the dual wan two isp config,but just curious in the real world what gotcha's arise.

Works for me. When they dug through our fiber we were still alive on 2 DSL connections we still had.
It wasn't pretty, but atleast we still had internet so we could send and receive email.

My systems fail over smoothly as well. I've got a DS3 and DSL as a backup and, aside from things getting a bit slower, no one has even noticed when we kick over to the DSL.

Any example config on how to implement this? My company are about to implement a backup (copper) line. So, my first thought was two pf sense boxes, one primary, with the wan on the fibre channel, and one secondary, with the wan on the backup line. Then running carp for the external and internal ip failover and pfsync between the boxes.
Would this be right? It would not be dual wan, but dual pfsense. =)
