    Hi all,

First of all i would start with WOW for PFSense ease of installation and setup. Really great peace of software. Thanks to all who developed it.

I have some questions and would be grateful if someone could help me.

    Is there possibility for following

Need to authenticate users by their computer IP`s (192.168.0.0/24) and need to create 2 access lists, one with full access to the internet (www, socks, pop, ftp, etc, etc) and another one with access to the www (only certain sites which i would specify) and socks(icq, skype)
also, some sites like facebook and other social networking sites should be blocked globally for both access lists.

Is there possibility for my request using plain pfsense or i need to install additional packages?

I want to change existing solution which is windows based since it is discontinued to something more robust and with ongoing support and upgrade.

Thank you very much for your input.

    Alonzo

You can accomplish this with the squid and squidGuard add-on packages, but not with items in the base system alone.

Hi and thanks for your reply.

I Will try to get around this with new installation and only sqid and squidguard packages.

Can you tell me what would be steps i need to do in order to accomplish this task after i install squid and squidguard packages.

        Thanks once again

        Alonzo

There are plenty of detailed how-to documents on the doc wiki ( http://doc.pfsense.org ) and elsewhere on the forum. Some searching should turn them up.
