Is it possible to install pfsense 2.0 on a 3GB Microdrive?  … Can I just put the 2.0 GB image on it and loose 1.0 GB of storage.

I just install pfsense on a 4GB CF (no swap because I has 2GB RAM), no problem.

        df
Filesystem  1K-blocks  Used  Avail Capacity  Mounted on
        /dev/ad1s1a  3931878 201856 3415472    6%    /
        devfs              1      1      0  100%    /dev
        /dev/md0        3694    50    3350    1%    /var/run
        devfs              1      1      0  100%    /var/dhcpd/dev
        /dev/md1      507630  8284  458736    2%    /var/squid

The question wasn't really about RAM, it was more about the size of the CF card.  My CF card is a 3.0GB microdrive, but the images are available in 512MB, 1GB, 2GB, and 4GB.  I'm trying to figure out if they will work on a 3GB card.

You can always use a smaller image on a larger card/device. For example, on a 4GB CF you can use the 512MB, 1GB, 2GB or 4GB image.

So on a 3GB microdrive, you could use the 512MB, 1GB, or 2GB image.
