I have 1.2.3-RELEASE on ALIX board.

My WAN IP is statically assigned

Is it normal behavior for boot up to be slow when the wan is unavailable/disconnected?

      Thanks for your help!

normal is less than 1 minute
with the wan not present, 10 minutes
it hangs on starting firewall for what seems an eternity

I have the same delay booting 1.2.3 nano without a WAN connection (WAN IP is Static).

10 min is too long. same delay if set for dhcp?
are all ip settings configured properly?
for the alix boards are you using embeded or full installs? on cf or hd?
might be a problem with these boards.

                embedded install on cf

have another cf card or system you could test it on?
could also backup your config and reinstall.

I have had this same problem on multiple new installs with different CF cards and on multiple hardware platforms (net5501 and PC hardware)

Houston, we have a real problem here!  A problem I can live with but none the less a problem that should be addressed.
