It should be automatically creating that wlan interface, it does for ath and others.

I understand your point, but this is an onboard device we have in several small boxes. In FreeBSD 8 STABLE I'm ok with the rc.conf wlans_zyd line. Shall I expect that pfSense 2.0 will provide a substitute for this rc.conf input ? May this issue move to the 2.0 BETA Feedback forum ?
-
No, there is no rc.conf equivalent because the code for wireless interfaces in pfSense 2.0 should be cloning the interface for you automatically when you set it up.
It's possible that the zyd interface isn't being seen as a wireless interface, but it should be. I thought the detection was automatic now (it used to be done by a hardcoded list).
It's also possible that since the zyd driver does not support hostap mode, the wireless options aren't being shown. I'm not sure if there is code in the UI to handle wireless interfaces which are outgoing-only.

Would this possibily be solved together with bug #315 ?
-
Probably not, that's a different bug.

I'll update ASAP and report. Thank you both.

What I could see is the driver for that card isn't in pfsense , read my post on the problem, I was trying to use it as AP.

This thread came from yours. zyd driver is in pfSense 2.0 (FreeBSD 8.0) kernel only. But I think you can´t use the zyd driver as AP (BSSDI).

It worked ! Tested with 02152010 Beta snapshot. :)
