Just installed 2.0 Beta1, Dashboard not working ..

  • Hi Guys,

    Just installed:2.0-BETA1
built on Sat Dec 26 10:18:01 EST 2009

Great firewall! My Dashboard isn't working too well however - It seems to be installed OK, and I have the default 'System Information', and 'Interfaces' widgets on, however, I can't add anymore. IE8 is also saying there is a scripting error on the page, as per below.

    Webpage error details

I am running Win7, and have tried from mulitple pc's, but the issue remains. Any ideas?

  • in ie8 click the compatability mode button at the end of the address bar and see if  that helps.

  • Thanks for the advice - Didn't make a difference. :( I have tried restarting the webConfigurator also.
When attempting to add new widgets, they add, but the information never comes through, just sits there with the wheel spinning around.

  • have you tried an alternative browser such as firefox or chrome? that will tell us if it is a problem with your install or just a general incompatability with ie8

  • Yeah, I have tried it with Chrome and the problem is still present - Tried it on several computers on my LAN aswell, So it's definitely something to do with the pFSense box itself somewhere.

I was running a previous version of pFSense where i had to download the Dashboard package manually and it still had issues - When clicking the add extra widget button, nothing would happen, not even give you a list of available widgets to add.

This is why i upgraded to the new 2.0Beta. It's getting further now and allows me to add widgets successfully, however when they add they just sit there unable to obtain data. I removed the System Info one from my dashboard, and it won't re-add, presumable from this IE scripting error i mentioned above.

  • Kinda fixed it using the trick below:

    http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,21611.msg111234.html#msg111234

Added widgets successfully now, but they can't be moved around from the GUI.

That problem was fixed quite a while ago. Update to a recent snapshot and it should work.
