With a fresh (in December) pfSense 1.2.3 install, I recently installed the vhosts package via the WebGUI package management menu. When starting the vhosts service it indicates at the top of the window that the service has been started however, viewing the LigHTTPD web server service status shows it to be stopped. Repeated clicks on the start button duplicate the same behavior where it claims to have started the service yet the status shows as stopped. I've removed the package and reinstalled it but to no avail, same issue. System logs don't indicate any type of odd behavior…or anything beyond the standard notations expected during a package removal and reinstall. My intentions were to install the new fusion PBX package however I can't seem to get the vhosts package running. I have not created any 'sites' and the VIA based mini-ITX w/onboard dual ethernet pfsense box has been rock solid since replacing the Sonicwall 200 in December and the system is reporting to be only consuming 8% of the 4GB CF/IDE usage. Any ideas?

      FreeSWITCH
      OpenVPN Status
      TFTP
      bandwidthd
      rate
      vhosts

I have been running pfSense 1.2.3 for some time and could not be happier with the product. I recently built a second box with a fresh install of pfSense 1.2.3, in order to play with Freeswitch. Unfortunately, I have run into the same dilemma that sdudley experienced, "When starting the vhosts service it indicates at the top of the window that the service has been started however, viewing the LigHTTPD web server service status shows it to be stopped." I have removed both packages (Freeswitch and vHosts) and reinstalled them, but no change. I have completely populated the vHosts settings tab, but still no joy.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

        Installed packages:
        Freeswitch
        vHosts
