I have read the whole forum about FTP problems on 1.2.3 rc2 but all the posts are about problems with incoming FTP sessions. but i face the problem the other way around. the outbound sessions arent working.

here is what i have :

I have a PFsense embedded box with 2 interfaces. a LAN and a WAN interface. nothing very special. just a basic setup.

when i try to FTP to any ftp server on the internet i am not getting a session. when i telnet to a server on port 21 i dont get even a greeting message. I think it have to do with the FTP proxy. but when i disable the userland ftp helper or i enable doesnt give a change or solution.

Anyone have some suggestions i will like that very much as this gives me big headaches already.

Did you disable both ftp helpers?  WAN and LAN?
