      Using vsftp on fedora core 5. Both active and passive transfer work. However to get passive transfer to work I have to hard code my ip in the vsftpd config.

      pasv_address=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

      Otherwise it sends the private ip assigned to the server to the client. Can pftpx do a translation? Or is there a better way than manually changing the server config each time my ip changes

        Nevermind…. When I first tried this I didn't have pasv_address defined at all in the config. pftpx does translate it. I set pasv_address=10.10.1.15 the internal ip and it works great both internal and external.

        Confusing as I swear it didn't work before.
