Config.xml has configs from removed packages
-
When I open a saved Config file in word I still see settings listed from packages I have UNinstalled. Is this normal?
-
Yes, that is normal. Otherwise when you reinstall a package you'd lose all its settings.

Thanks for the reply.
Now what would cause Squid to have multiple some the same some different entry's for the cache management part of the config ? -
Sometimes it gets a single <config>entry in there which causes issues. Delete the entire cache management bit from the config and it's fine. (Download a backup, edit it out, and restore)
I can't reliably reproduce it so I haven't found a way to test/fix it either, unfortunately.</config>

Thanks ,
That is what I have been doing, I edit out all the squid configurations and upload the file. After witch the system re-installs all the packages when it reboots. I find in my case that rebooting the system as soon as the packages re-install is a must. It only bothers Squid all the rest are fine. I also deleted Squid's own configs from shell and restarted because they would not let me change the settings.
