    Thanks!!!

  • Yep!  We are using it for our own domain as well as for many clients.  Just reply here if you have any trouble getting it going.

  • hello periko.

im trying to configure tinydns in my pfbox but simply can not do it

i've searched in the forum but there are many users with the same problem but nobody explain how make it works, i've allready seen the wiki and the tutorials but there is not none about tinydns, really i want to use like dns cache for my lan but if is posible that work like authoritative and dns cache i'll really would apreciatte if you tell me how.

thanks in advanced and sorry for my bad english, bye.

  • I am also experiencing the issue. When I turn on the normal DNS Forwarding, the PFSense serves up the internet just fine.

When I install the package for dns-server, de-activate the DNS forwarding, then enable the DNS forwarding from the DNS-server…. it stops resolving addresses.

Anyone have a solution to that?

  • actually turns out my DNS Server isn't even turning on. Nothing in the error logs to suggest as to why.

I am using the embedded DNS server solution. Could that be the problem?

Go to "status -> Services". If the "svscan" service is not started, start it. "Then you will notice that the "DNS Server" service also started.
