      Hi,

tnx for pfsense, i'm loving it more & more, having 3 nice 5570xeon based pfsense servers doing a great job.

Anyone knows if we can use a virtual ip as a HAProxy listner?
I don't seem to get it working.

      The docs (http://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/What_are_Virtual_IP_Addresses%3F)
say 'Can not be used by the firewall itself but can be forwarded'
      would this include HAProxy?

      tnx in advance,
      have fun!
      jst.

Yep, because HAproxy is running as a program on the firewall.

Is there anything preventing you from using CARP type VIPs?

We do what we must, because we can.

You must use a CARP VIP interface to get haproxy working properly on pfSense.  I setup my 3rd pfSense/haProxy install yesterday and definitely had to use a CARP VIP.
