I have a number of users behind a PFSense box that all use Microsoft Outlook and an external IMAP server. Back in the days when I used Smoothwall, this worked fine, but then I switched to IPCop and the IMAP connections kept dropping. I don't know quite why - maybe the router had trouble keeping the connections alive, or something of that sort. After trying a few other distros, I settled on PFSense (beta 3), which worked well and handled all my IMAP connections without dropping. I've now upgraded to release 1.0, though, and the problem is reoccurring - if you leave an IMAP client (or at least Microsoft's one) running, eventually it will drop the connection and spit out error messages until you close it and re-open. Is there an easy fix for this? Is this a common problem, or is it some oddity with my setup? Any insight appreciated…
