      Hello,

This issue started with not being able to install packages.
I found out the the DNS settings were wrong.
Under Status - Interfaces I see that my WAN interface gets first the DNS from OPT1 and after that the DNS from the WAN itself
I can remove the OTP1 DNS servers in /etc/resolv.conf and see it correctly updates under Status - Interfaces - WAN
After this the packages list is retrieved.
However when I want to install a package (snort) it doesn't start downloading and ends up with a strange message

      _Saving updated package information… overwrite!
The snort package is not installed.

      Installation aborted.Writing configuration... done.
      Starting service.

Installation completed.  Please check to make sure that the package is configured from the respective menu then start the package._

      Any ideas / suggestions ??
      Thanks

If you do not want the DNS to be overridden in that way, go to System > General and uncheck the box for allow DNS override.

Then the servers you put in that page manually will be respected.
