      hello,
I use Pfsense v 1.2.3 with DHCP server activated on it.
I have another server with named (DNS) server.
I would like that the DHCP send the update of the dhcp lease to the DNS.
I've try with RFC 2136 Dynamic DNS updates option in pfsense, It works but only for updating the Wan IP.
What I need is to update my local client (LAN) in the DNS.
is it possbile ? (I think yes, but have to change the configuration of dhcp /var/dhcpd/etc/dhcpd.conf manually but the change are lost after any update via the GUI interface.)

      Thanks,
      Natif

On the DHCP server settings, there is a checkbox for setting dynamic DNS updates. I believe you also need to fill in your DNS server in the DNS server field in the same DHCP server settings also, and then it will try to update that one.

I haven't tried this myself, but that seems to be the purpose of the setting.
