Hi, im running the newest pfsense release on p2 400 mhz 386 mb ram, no packages installed.

When it boots up, it say 24 % memory usage 100 states.

Right now, it is 52 % memory  usage, 132 states
I rebooted it last night and it was all the way up to 84% memory usage, still not very many states?

Does anyone know what could be taking up the memory?  Thanks, I would rather not do an entire reinstall.

      thanks,
      Zack

run "top" from the shell (hit 8 to exit from the shellmenu first). It will show you running processes and the memory that they are using.
