TinyDNS and pfsense states, ip
-
Hello pfsense guys,
I have successfully configured TinyDNS however Im having an issue with the ressource that Tinydns and DNS-Cache are using.
I dont have so much record in my DNS ~110.
When I start the services svscan and DNS Server my "states, ip" is going up to 10K from 2K without this services enable, this is creating timeout on my network, timeout on the pfsense webserver and on my ipsec tunnel.
In the system logs I can see that tinydns is pinging every record to check his state (UP or DOWN), I dont need that since Im not using the failover feature for any records, how can I disable completely this PingMonitor cuz Im thinking the problem could come from that.Thank you.

Hi,
Also I don't know if it's how tinydns works but when I enable it and look at the state page, I have 8 thousand states like these:
udp 192.168.10.4:27976 -> 192.168.10.4:53 MULTIPLE:SINGLE
udp 192.168.10.4:53 <- 192.168.10.4:27976 SINGLE:MULTIPLE
udp 192.168.10.4:33083 -> 192.168.10.4:53 SINGLE:NO_TRAFFIC
udp 192.168.10.4:53 <- 192.168.10.4:33083 NO_TRAFFIC:SINGLE
udp 192.168.10.4:48531 -> 192.168.10.4:53 SINGLE:NO_TRAFFIC
udp 192.168.10.4:53 <- 192.168.10.4:48531 NO_TRAFFIC:SINGLE
udp 192.168.10.4:63879 -> 192.168.10.4:53 SINGLE:NO_TRAFFIC
…Is these normal or something is going wrong in my setup?
Thank you
-Nico
