WAN traffic graph is broken with mlppp

  • I was testing the mlppp package before it was integrated into the 2.0 base, and the WAN traffic graph worked, although it reported double out traffic.

I've since used the June 10 and June 19 builds with integrated mlppp and the WAN graph never shows more than 5kbps, although real traffic is anywhere up to 10mbps.

I opened a ticket for this:

  • There was a xml change in the config file between the code you tested and the released code. Try restoring default configuration and re-configuring, if you haven't done that already.

  • I'm not eager to do that, as I've done a bit of configuring already. Is there something I could do by way of manually correcting the xml in the config file? If not I'll do as you suggest and try rebuilding my config from scratch.

  • You can backup your current config, then restore defaults, then configure mlppp again and test the traffic graphs. If they work, then you can backup that config and then add the <wan>and <ppps>sections from the new config to the old, and then restore the old-modified config.

You can always restore the first backup if nothing works out the way you want.

    Hows that? :)

  • Thanks. I just deleted the existing PPPoE entry, changed my WAN to dhcp, recreated an mlppp interface, changed the WAN to it, and now the graph is showing traffic. I think the WAN:Out graph might still be reporting double traffic, but there is a ticket open for that. I will update it as necessary.

My mistake. The ticket was for the problem as stated in my original post in this thread, however I updated it to state that the WAN:out graph is incorrect, as the new issue still appeared to fit under the same bug description.
