      Dear all,

      I m just a noob here also linux  :-\

But i found this pfsense from my friends and now i'm testing as a server.

      My Structure's here,

      Internet
                |
                |
      aDSL Modem (DHCP)
                |
                |
      pfsense installed PC
                |
                |
      D-Link Switch ———————————————-
                |                                              |
                |                                              |
Another Server (Windows XP) ——— Other Clients

I would like to know the easiest way for the Internet.
Cuz i found the error -
DHCP is worked for WAN and also can ping our ISP (for eg - 173.23.0.3), but Internet is timed out when our ISP's change to DSL login page from 173.23.0.3 (for example).

      WAN : DHCP
      LAN : 192.168.0.10 (/24) - that i just changed from the default, 192.168.1.1
      Client Server : 192.168.0.11

and may i know is there any changes at firewall? I mean is that okay pfsense firewall's default?

Please answer me in hurry… because i just tried those for several hours  :'(

      With best Regards,

I'll need a bit more information.

        @Testi0:

DHCP is worked for WAN and also can ping our ISP (for eg - 173.23.0.3), but Internet is timed out when our ISP's change to DSL login page from 173.23.0.3 (for example).

My ISP doesn't have anything I would call a DSL login page so I'm finding it hard to imagine what you mean here. Please provide more detail, what is the DSL login page? and what change do you mean by "change to DSL login page from 173.23.0.3? After reading that a few times I'm guessing you have to point a web browser to http://173.23.0.3 to identify yourself to your ISP; then, after identification, you can access the internet. But sometime later the ISP tells you (how?) you now to identify yourself through a web page on (for example) http://173.23.0.7 and you can't access that page (timeout) so the ISP doesn't allow internet access. Is this some form of captive portal? (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captive_portal/

In case I haven't guessed correctly above: From which point in the network are you trying to access the Internet when it times out? (e.g. pfSense console? Server? other client? …) What sort of internet access are you attempting (e.g. ping to x.x.x.x?, browser access to http://www.google.com? ...)

          Hi,

I would like to show how our ISP works -

For the Start of Modem, i wait for a while for changes of DHCP. For example when i got 173.23.1.111, i surf 173.23.0.3 and then it changes to an authenticated section shown as below.

so i log into that to authorize for surfing the web. That's it.

          please ..

which way b the best ?

          Best Regards,

PfSense has no support for such WAN setup, it is assumed that the WAN connection is directly usable after DHCP or PPPoE negotiation.

I thought your question was how to handle the DSL authentication automatically by pfSense but guess you just want to get to the auth page …

What happens when you try to surf to the 173.23.0.3 page, browser time out?

Can you post a screenshots of pfSense's Status->Interfaces and Diagnostic->Routes pages when connected with DHCP.
