NAT: Port forwarding

Whats the difference between "Pass" and "Create associated rule" when making a port-forward?
I see a green triangle when setting "pass" and the 8 when associating a new rule under rules.

Seems to me the same thing except the more easy setting with "pass".

Or is there more in background than what i see?
Both variants work the same way i think.

Please can someone clear this up? thx!

I suppose you could say that an associated rule is for when you want to add some of the advanced options on the firewall rule, rather than just the simple pass.
