      The web interface has a disable/enable button on the 'Status' -> 'CARP' page that is very handy for testing CARP peers.  Currently disabling CARP using this button, changes the webgui, but doesn't disable CARP.

      Is this a known issue or am I missing something?

        That got broken with some interface changes, I fixed part of it, opened a ticket on the remaining bit. http://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/761
