Schedules again…

  • I have BETA 3 build on Monday July 12. trying to limit access to the internet for my kid based on aliases and schedule and it doesn't work. it used to work on 1.2 though.
rule is set on lan and it works if I remove the schedule, so aliases are OK.
I saw another thread here with the same question but it is locked now and I can post there. author was saying something about upnp letting comps go around his rule but upnp here is not enabled.
could anybody point me to the right direction?

  • Check the firewall time is ok otherwise they have worked ok since last time i fixed them.
Just beaware of the changed behaviour when a schedule is not active it will not block the traffic anymore just the rule after it will be precessed.

So in your case you need a block for your kids ips(source) just after the schedule.

  • the time on the firewall is right.
your saying that I need two rules? one "allow" on schedule and then "block" for the rest of the day?

  • @covex:

A block right beneath it would suffice, it doesn't work the way it did in previous versions, outside of that time schedule that first rule won't be there at all so the traffic hits your second rule, which then allows it.

  • added a new "block all" rule after scheduled rule and everything works as it should. thanks!  :)

  • If you want a single rule, you can make it a block schedule instead of an allow schedule.

  • hm, makes sense :)
