I have the same issue. I can't get failover to work. I actually can't even get OPT1 to work standalone. I just ordered the pfsense book… hopefully some of these questions are answered in the book.

OK, i cannt get the book because a live in argentina, but if the issue exist (multiwan problems with squidguard) it have to be in bugs, not in the book.

Services on the firewall itself, like squid+squidguard, cannot use multi-wan on 1.2.x. There is no workaround.

If you need squid+squidguard to work with multi-wan, you either need a dedicated server in a DMZ for squid+squidguard, or you might be able to make it work in the 2.0 beta.

Could you confirm that mutliwan+squid+squidguard works fine on 2.0 version.

I haven't seen it work yet, but you might start a thread on the 2.0 board asking if anyone else has.
