Empty loader.conf after firmware update?

Just been hit by this one. Closest I found is bug 560 http://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/560 which is marked as resolved.
This isn't marked as a 2.0 known issue.
What I did:

First installed the 2010-08-03 AMD64 snapshot.

Upgraded today (2010-08-05 snapshot).

loader.conf file is empty.
-
Typed the content of the file as listed on the bug 560 page using the shell / vi.
-
Rebooted.
-
Content still there.

I thought that was fixed, but it may not be.
Try using /boot/loader.conf.local instead.
